So I know many of you have a distaste for the television phenomenon that is American Idol. I also know that I have previously stated that I refused to blog on Idol. I used to really like the show because it gave relative unknowns the chance at superstardom, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong in wanting attention. Today, there are so many rumors of rigging votes and planting contestants that the show has all but completely lost its way. I, however, have been choosing to overlook the preposterous nature of the show these past seasons in an attempt to seek out the true raw talent within the crop of hopefuls… Alex Lambert got eliminated?

Here’s the thing… America’s votes. I get that. I have a total respect for the process of the show, although their may be some legitimate proof that the votes are fudged time and time again, I think Idol wanted Lambert to stick around, which is why I’m surprised. America really didn’t vote?
Regardless, Alex, you’ve got star quality and it’s not over for you. Here’s another thing… I don’t ever plug my celebrity booking company, Tranchula Management, via my blog, but I want Alex to know that when he’s ready there could possibly be a mini tour waiting for him. Just get in touch with me, and I’ll try my best to make something happen, if you’re interested.

The truth is, this is one of the weakest top 12s Idol has ever had. With a few gems in Siobhan Magnus and Crystal Bowersox, the rest of the cast is cannon fodder better set to take a bullet for the front runners than to take the idol crown. Maybe that’s what this is about. Maybe American Idol is gearing up for the next Clarkson or Underwood and is completely oblivious to the competition itself. A fantastic winner is essentially better than a well-rounded top 12, if you ask me. Whatever… save the glass blower! Vote Siobhan!
